At the Wednesday morning plenary meeting, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii addressed the Parliament requesting the parliamentarians to become more responsible in their work.
Parubii noted that on Tuesday, the Ukrainian Parliament managed to work very effectively and adopted lots of important draft laws.
Addressing the parliamentarians, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada said that the country was waiting for decisions touching national security and defense, state assistance to the Ukrainian army, reforms and decommunization.
Parubii noted that the procedure of so-called signal voting was used, as there were too few deputies in the session hall. "Too often the deputies go out of the session hall making the process of decision-making impossible," he said.
Addressing the people's deputies, he said: "We have to give up thinking about our political interests. The first should be the interest of the state. The state is interested in effective Parliament. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has to be able to take decisions."
Parubii called on the people's deputies to "obey the Regulations and attend their working places." "Our work has to ground on partnership. If we fail to adjust proper cooperation, the Parliament will continue having that lowest level of trust," he said.
The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada called on the parliamentarians to do their best to raise the level of attendance and feel their responsibility to the "guys in the frontline."
