Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine, Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu who is concluding his diplomatic mission to our country.
Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Ambassador for his personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian-Spanish relations, as well as for Spain's comprehensive support for Ukraine – political, defense, humanitarian, and financial.
"Today, Ukraine and Spain do not merely have good relations – we have a high level of political trust, support, and interparliamentary cooperation," emphasized Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The parties discussed the further development of cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cortes Generales of Spain. Special attention was paid to strengthening interparliamentary dialogue, which has gained new momentum in recent years.
During the conversation, the parties also addressed Ukraine’s European integration. Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to Spain for its consistent support of our country on its path to European Union membership and emphasized the importance of maintaining such support at the stage of making key political decisions.
In closing the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the Ambassador for his years of work in Ukraine, his friendship, and his solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and wished him success in his future diplomatic endeavors.
