During the first meeting of the Committee people’s deputies took the decision to establish the following subcommittees:
on pre-school, general secondary and out-of-school education, headed by people’s deputy Dzoz V.O.;
on professional education, headed by people’s deputy Dorokhova A.M.;
on higher education, headed by people’s deputy Farion I.D.;
on education and innovation activity, headed by the people’s deputy Pavlenko R.M.;
on intellectual property, headed by the people’s deputy Yemets L.O.;
on legislative support of Ukraine's integration into the international scientific and educational space, headed by the people’s deputy Parubiy A.V.
The Resolution “On the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation” of 25.12.2012 registered under No. 11-VII determines jurisdiction of the committee:
education;
science, scientific and technological activity and scientific parks;
legal status and social protection of scientific, academic and teaching employees;
innovation activity and high-technology development (except issues pertaining to the jurisdiction of other committees);
intellectual property;
basis for carrying out scientific and technical expertise.
