The Law was adopted in the version of the first reading.
According to the Law, all-Ukrainian referendum is one of the forms of direct democracy; the way of exercising power by Ukrainian people that lies in taking (adopting) decisions of national significance through secret voting.
Any issues, except those resolving of which is prohibited by the Constitution of Ukraine and the laws of Ukraine are the subject of all-Ukrainian referendum.
The Law includs the provision according to which, citizens of Ukraine who have turned eighteen on the election day, have the right to vote. Citizens of Ukraine entitled to vote are the participants of all-Ukrainian referendum. The participant of all-Ukrainian referendum exercises his/her right to vote during all-Ukrainian referendum in the order established by this law.
According to the document, any restrictions of citizens’ rights are prohibited.
