This year, Ukraine marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of its Constitution — the bedrock of our state's democratic development. The urgency of adopting this appeal lies in the vital need to sustain the international community's unwavering attention on Ukraine's struggle for democratic values, as well as to consolidate the efforts of the world's democratic nations in assisting our state to counter the armed aggression of the russian federation.
Furthermore, within the framework of its oversight function, the Committee heard briefs from higher education institutions, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding the challenges facing educational diplomacy during the full-scale aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine. The meeting addressed the development of scientific and educational cooperation with foreign states, the maintenance of ties with Ukrainians abroad — specifically expanding opportunities for teaching the Ukrainian language abroad and supporting the "Ukrainian Bookshelf" initiative in foreign libraries — as well as the training of specialists in international relations and international law, and the education of foreign citizens in Ukraine.
Among other matters, Committee members decided to initiate the establishment of a Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine parliamentary group on interparliamentary relations with the Republic of Mozambique and designated a coordinator, noting that a group of solidarity and friendship with Ukraine was recently established in the Parliament of Mozambique.
