At its meeting, the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management considered the draft law “On integrated prevention and control of industrial pollution” (No. 6004) and alternatives to it.

The draft laws are aimed at establishing the legal and organizational framework for the prevention, reduction, control and elimination of pollution resulting from industrial activities, to ensure a high level of environmental protection through the introduction of an integrated environmental permit, identification of activities that require an integrated environmental permit, requirements for the application of the best available technologies and methods of management, monitoring of emissions and control of compliance with the conditions of the integrated environmental permit.

The Committee decided to set up a working group to improve the bills with the involvement of the acting Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, representatives of central executive bodies, specialists and experts, members of the public sector.
