Participants of the meeting were members of the Committee: Liliya Hrynevych, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi, Taras Kremin, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Pavlo Polianskyi, Chairperson of the Luhansk oblast state administration Hennadii Moskal, employees of the Committee Secretariat, Ministry of Education and Science, Central Committee of the Trade Union of employees of education and science sectors of Ukraine, Luhansk oblast military-civil administration, Luhansk oblast institute of postgraduate pedagogical education, heads of education departments and divisions of town councils and district state administrations, heads of preschool, general education, post-school, vocational-technical schools and higher education establishments of Luhansk oblast.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issue of educational needs of the following categories of citizens: children staying on liberated territories where education infrastructure is ruined; children and students of higher education establishments and vocational-technical schools from among internally-displaced persons; graduates from occupied territories willing to enter Ukrainian higher education establishments and pass Standardized External Testing; ATO veterans, who may need additional education or re-qualification.
The Committee drew attention to necessity for settlement of the following issues: construction and restoration of educational establishments and their basic infrastructure; unhampered bringing of children and teachers to education establishments and work; organization of catering and the issue of children’s health; legislative enshrinement of substantial socioeconomic privileges and wage increase for teaches and employees engaged in scientific-teaching sector and working in the antiterrorist operation zone; revision of regulatory-legal acts on simplification of reporting system; reception of education certificates; procedures of licensing and accreditation of educational establishments withdrawn from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine or located in a frontline zone; improvement of work on psychological and social rehabilitation of children from antiterrorist operation zone; completion of settling the problems related to passing state final attestation and Standardized External Testing by graduates of general educational establishments from the antiterrorist operation zone; etc.
Participants of the meeting have suggested recommending that the Verkhovna Rada speed up the consideration of already registered draft laws aimed at tackling the issues of educational needs of different categories of citizens in view of holding of anti-terror operation.
At the meetings, Committee representatives handed over books from President’s Envoy for Peaceful Settlement of the Conflict in Donbas and Verkhovna Rada deputy Iryna Heraschenko to educators for their further delivery to school libraries. The books had been collected in compliance with respective initiative of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee, Ukrvydavpolihrafiya state joint-stock company, and the Health of the Future [Zdoroviya Maibutnioho] individual charity fund. Besides, books provided by the Znannia company have also been handed over to school libraries.
