In particular, the Verkhovna Rada ratified crucial agreements between Ukraine and the European Union, such as:
- Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine's participation in the European Union's Digital Europe programme (2021-2027).
The ratification of this Agreement creates the preconditions for Ukraine's participation in the EU Programme, which provides additional incentives and opportunities, including financial ones, for the digital transformation of priority sectors and areas of public life, the development of the digital economy, IT business, artificial intelligence, supercomputers, and the improvement of citizens' digital skills. In addition, participation in the Programme contributes to Ukraine's accession to the EU's Digital Single Market by enabling Ukraine to obtain internal market treatment with the EU in the field of telecommunications services and gradual integration into the EU's Digital Single Market.
- Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine's participation in Customs, the Union's programme for cooperation in the field of customs.
The Agreement is the basis for cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in maintaining a customs union and customs authorities working together and acting as one. The objectives of Customs, the Union's programme for cooperation in the customs area, are to protect the financial and economic interests of the Union and its Member States, to ensure safety and security within the Union and to protect the Union from unfair and illegal trade, while supporting legitimate commercial activity.
- Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, on the other hand, on Ukraine's participation in the European Union's Single Market Programme (2021-2027).
The ratification of the Agreement ensures Ukraine's participation in the Programme, which provides additional incentives and opportunities, including for increasing the competitiveness of business, in particular MSP, and the creation and dissemination of high-quality European statistics in Ukraine. Ukraine's participation in the Programme allows to strengthen Ukraine's cooperation with the EU, which is especially important in view of the European integration processes.
- Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, on the other hand, on Ukraine's participation in the Union's Civil Protection Mechanism.
Ratification of the Agreement allows full cooperation with the Union in the field of civil protection. The participation of Ukraine (MIA, SES) in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism will help strengthen Ukraine's capacity to prevent and respond to natural, man-made and military disasters at the national and international levels with the involvement of national forces of the EU Member States with the support of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism Emergency Response Coordination Centre, and will also facilitate the coordinated provision of humanitarian assistance to the affected population.
- Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, on the other hand, on Ukraine's participation in the EU programme "Connecting Europe".
The conclusion of the Agreement allows Ukraine to join the Union's Connecting Europe programme, which aims to build, develop and modernise trans-European networks in the transport, energy and digital sectors and to promote cross-border cooperation in the field of renewable energy, taking into account long-term decarbonisation commitments and the objectives of increasing European competitiveness. Ukraine's participation in the programme allows it to attract EU funding to support the development of high-performance, sustainable and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy and digital services.
