Going forward, extensive work will continue to implement EU legislation into national law. This involves hundreds of EU integration laws that must be adopted by the parliament.
This was stated by a member of the Servant of the People faction, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, member of the permanent delegation to PACE, Yevheniia Kravchuk.
"All six negotiation clusters have already been unofficially opened. This is about profound transformation of the state, about the rules governing the economy, standards of living, about the level of environmental protection and opportunities for community development. According to Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, all clusters might be grouped into around 300 EU integration laws that must be adopted by the parliament in order to meet the criteria of a candidate member. This work must be completed with responsibility, because these criteria cannot be lowered. We are able to postpone certain elements, in particular in the agricultural policy field," the MP noted.
According to her, the unofficial opening of the clusters for Ukraine is a creative way to circumvent Hungary’s blocking of our European integration process without, in fact, breaching the procedure.
“All the so-called benchmarks, that is, the criteria, must be met by the time of accession. During Denmark’s EU presidency, the first three clusters were opened, and now, under Cyprus’s presidency, the opening of the next three has been announced. However, Ukraine must officially close these six negotiation clusters, with the full political support of all European Union member states,” the politician emphasised.
In her view, by that time it will be necessary to find a way to engage with those EU member states that are standing in the way of EU enlargement, abusing their rights and using them to advance their own domestic agendas.
