On 29 August, on the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko and the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk paid tribute to the fallen Heroes of Ukraine.
As the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine noted, Ukraine remembers the feat of each and every Defender and bows its head today and always to all those who gave their lives in the fight for Ukraine. “We honour our Heroes. The names of all of them are forever in our history,” he stressed.
“More and more names and portraits are a pain for all of us. Here today there are many relatives of the Heroes who fell in the russian-Ukrainian war. There are no words to express our respect for the defenders. Eternal memory to the soldiers!” said the First Vice-Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko.
“Eternal honour and blessed memory to all the Defenders who died in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Let us never forget the price of our freedom and every piece of free Ukrainian land,” said Olena Kondratiuk, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
