The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is considering the establishment of a Parliamentary Budget Office Among the functions of the new body are research and analysis of the draft law on the budget, budget status and fiscal policy, providing the Parliament with an independent analysis of the budget, other documents on financial and economic issues that are particularly important for the country, etc.
This was announced by First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Kornienko during the meeting with representatives of the European Investment Bank.
He is convinced that the creation of such a body is extremely important for Ukraine. After all, even a cursory analysis of budgets for next year, forecasting the financial strategy will be useful for the state and society.
Oleksandr Kornienko thanked the EIB representatives for supporting the project.
"We are ready to facilitate this process at the level of the leadership of the Parliament and will try to involve certain departments of the Verkhovna Rada's Secretariat to move quickly on the registration of this body," the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament concluded.
