The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, presented diplomas and awards to the winners of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Award for young scientists and held a meeting with the winners of the competition.
The award was given to 66 young scientists selected through a competitive selection process. Works from 16 fields of science from 18 regions of the country were submitted for consideration. The largest share was represented by research from the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the work of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences and the National Academy of Legal Sciences.
Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised that this award is one of the most significant honours he has the privilege of presenting. He stressed his deep respect for young scientists who demonstrate strong motivation, diligence and a desire to discover new things. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the laureates for their research and dedication, which form the intellectual foundation of the state.
During a separate conversation with the winners, they discussed the key challenges facing Ukraine, from developments in the defence sector to innovations in medicine, education and technology. The young scientists voiced proposals that require the support of Parliament and state policy. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasised the importance of creating an environment in Ukraine where talented researchers can work effectively and implement their ideas.
«Value your intellect — it is what makes you competitive and your country stronger,» the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine addressed the laureates. He emphasised that the state recognises their work, values it, and relies on their decisions: «Ukrainian science has power, and the task of Parliament is to create all the conditions necessary for this power to work for the security, stability, and development of Ukraine.»
