Current US support for Ukraine is deeply rooted in history. To mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, a thematic exhibition organized by the Ukrinform National News Agency and the US Embassy in Ukraine was unveiled in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, attended by Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. The exhibition, entitled 'USA–Ukraine: A Line of Trust,' explores Ukrainian-American relations as a long-standing, consistent, and unbroken trajectory of mutual engagement and partnership.
"Ukraine has always been, is, and will remain a reliable partner of the United States in defending freedom, independence, law, and justice. Our strategic partnership is particularly vital today, as we stand together against threats to the international rule of law and attempts to impose dictatorship,” noted the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
He also stressed that Ukrainian-American interparliamentary cooperation is of paramount importance. The mutual respect between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the US Congress, founded on the principles of bipartisanship and bicameralism, reinforces the interstate line of trust.
“We count on the continued support of the US Congress in countering the russian aggressor. We believe in a just and lasting peace, the inevitability of accountability for crimes, and full reparations for all damages inflicted upon Ukraine,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine concluded.
The exhibition brings together unique images from different eras. Archival photographs capture the foundational stages of the relationship between the two nations. The materials provided by the American diplomatic side demonstrate the evolution and real-world impact of this partnership under contemporary circumstances.
“Here in Ukraine, the United States is striving to achieve a lasting peace, while also facilitating the country's post-war recovery. The photographs in this exhibition stand as a testament to the fact that the bond between Ukraine and the US is not merely about political meetings; these ties run much deeper,” emphasized US Chargé d’Affaires Daniel Bishop.
