The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko presented diplomas to the graduates of the Reintegration Management Programme. Addressing the graduates, he stressed the importance of this programme for the restoration of Ukraine.
“It is very important to pay attention now and start implementing the Recovery Programme while our Armed Forces are doing everything to make the number of de-occupied territories grow. We need to prepare now to build governance in the liberated territories based on the principles of good governance,” said First Vice Speaker Oleksandr Kornienko in his speech.
He also stressed that Ukraine has committed itself to the EU to improve public governance:
“In parallel, we have moved even closer to one of our strategic goals – Ukraine's accession to the EU. In fact, Ukraine has already started the negotiation procedure, and bilateral negotiations are already underway on all 32 chapters of European legislation. I will personally participate in one of the negotiation rounds as a member of our negotiating team, as a delegate from the Parliament. This concerns the public administration reform and the creation of a roadmap for such a reform. This is what is in the requirements and in our commitment that we made when we signed the negotiation framework. So now we need to move to a new, higher level of governance. This is a strategic task for our entire public administration sphere,” said the First Vice Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko.
In conclusion, the First Vice-Speaker wished the graduates to become a real team of like-minded people charged with the idea of restoring and rebuilding Ukraine.
For reference:
The Reintegration Management Programme is a joint project developed and implemented by the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and MIM Business School with the support of the Office of the President of Ukraine. The programme was made possible with the support of the USAID Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative (UCBI).
Over the course of six months, the programme's participants learned online what effective leadership should look like and received tools to develop their leadership skills. They also studied the legal framework, management methods, project management, etc. A separate block of disciplines was devoted to a historical tour of the currently occupied territories and the peculiarities of their formation. In addition, the students met with current managers holding public office and human rights activists.
80% of the selected students come from the regions temporarily under the control of the enemy.
