The parties discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the issue of strengthening interparliamentary cooperation.
Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that Ukraine appreciates the constructive position of the Government of Mexico in condemning russia's armed aggression against Ukraine within the UN General Assembly.
"Mexico and Ukraine equally understand and see that the principles of international law must not be violated. And in case of violation, there should be an appropriate reaction of the international community," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasized.
In addition, he called on Mexico, as one of the leading countries of The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, to join the peace plan of the Ukrainian side — the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "Peace is possible only if it is long-lasting and fair," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed hope that relations between the parliaments of Ukraine and Mexico would receive a "new impetus.": "The Ukrainian Parliament is very interested in having good relations with parliamentarians from all countries of the civilized world."
In conclusion, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine invited his colleagues — the President of the Senate of Mexico Ana Lilia Rivera and the Vice Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico Blanca Alcala — to join the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform, which will be held this month in Prague, Czech Republic.
