russia, a terrorist state and abductor of Ukrainian children, has no place in the OSCE and its Parliamentary Assembly, which should condemn crimes against children. This was stated by the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk during an international parliamentary conference in Warsaw on countering the threat of human trafficking to Ukrainian refugees.
In her speech, she addressed the participants from 13 countries and the OSCE representatives present and reminded that the Parliaments of Poland, France, Slovakia, Iceland, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe had adopted resolutions condemning illegal deportation as a crime against Ukrainian children.
“Given that the OSCE representatives and members of parliamentary delegations to this organisation are present here, I urge you to adopt a resolution on children at the next session of the OSCE PA, which will begin in 3 days in Vancouver, Canada. On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I appeal to MPs from other countries participating in the event to ensure that similar decisions are made in their parliaments,” said Olena Kondratiuk.
The Vice-Speaker also insists on including a clause on the deportation of Ukrainian children as part of the crime of human trafficking in the conference communique.
In her speech, the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada addressed the persons representing the OSCE structures or participating in the meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
“Finally deprive the russian delegation of its powers! Support Ukraine’s amendments to the OSCE PA Rules and Procedures that will make this decision legally possible! The international community must ensure complete isolation of russia as an aggressor country in all dimensions. In particular, this applies to participation in international organisations such as the OSCE,” emphasised Olena Kondratiuk.
