The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko took part in the Parliamentary-Municipal Forum “Dialogue for the Development of Communities under Martial Law”.
“Volyn region has become one of our very serious outposts for both creating and developing the war economy,” the First Vice Speaker emphasised.
He noted that it was in this region that an example of interaction and work in many areas was presented, especially in self-government and joint work with the central government.
“Today’s parliamentary-municipal forum is important for scaling this experience to other regions of Ukraine,” stressed Oleksandr Korniienko, adding that the event’s objectives also include establishing effective communication between communities and the Parliament and MPs of Ukraine, discussing community problems in the economic and humanitarian spheres under martial law, and finding ways to solve them at the parliamentary level.
“Such experience is needed in all regions, including the frontline ones, to discuss the topic of self-government, the prospects that exist and will be there, and the experience of MPs in the war. This will be the next step that we will definitely discuss and implement together,” said Oleksandr Korniienko, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during the parliamentary-municipal forum “Dialogue for the Development of Hromadas under Martial Law”.
For reference. The event was organised with the participation of the USAID RADA: New Generation and NGO Internews Ukraine.
The purpose of the event is to learn about local economic and humanitarian development practices under martial law; to establish partnerships with deputies and community representatives from other regions; and to present the activities of projects and programmes supporting communities under martial law.
