The First Vice-Speaker of Parliament noted that Maksym Levin, the author of the photo from the exhibition, was a political and parliamentary photojournalist:

"The last few years of war with russia, since 2014, he joined the ranks of military photographers."

He also covered the russian-Ukrainian war of 2022. During the first five days of the full-scale war, Maks Levin published photo reports from at least seven hotspots in different parts of Ukraine: from Kharkiv to Vasylkiv and several settlements in the Irpin and Zhytomyr areas. Maxim was also one of those who managed to get out of the Battle of Ilovaysk alive.

Oleksandr Korniyenko noted that, unfortunately, the artist is no longer with us. On April 1, the police found his body near the village of Guta Mezhyhirska, Kyiv region. Maksym Levin died in the line of duty, twice deliberately shot by the russian occupier.

"Thanks to his dedicated work, the whole world has seen the horrors that have taken place and, unfortunately, continue in Ukraine – in the East and South of the country," said Oleksandr Korniyenko, adding that Ukraine calls to end this war as soon as possible with russia’s defeat.

russian nazis in Ukraine kill Ukrainian and foreign journalists to cover up their atrocities. However, no crime will be forgotten, russia will be held accountable for the terror committed against the Ukrainian people.
