The visit of the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament and members of the delegation to Ukraine is an excellent manifestation of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, during a meeting with the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, who arrived in Kyiv.

"I am glad to welcome you to Ukraine at the head of the delegation of the Georgian Parliament. Today is the 52nd day of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and the 52nd day when the Ukrainian nation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are heroically resisting the aggression of the Russian Federation, "Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

According to him, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament and members of the delegation will have the opportunity to see that the actions of the Russian army are not subject to the laws of humanity, honor, and dignity of military affairs.

"Ukraine's task is not only a victory in which we are all convinced. The most important thing for us is that those who committed this terrible aggression in the 21st century bear legal punishment and that the borders of Ukraine be restored. I want to assure you that neither the Parliament of Ukraine nor the Ukrainian nation sees this full-fledged victory without the support of the Georgian people, "the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.

He noted that the support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty by the Ukrainian nation and the Ukrainian government is and will be just as strong.

"I believe that these occupied territories were, are, and remain the territory of Georgia. It seems to me that we have one very tragic thing in common with Georgia and Moldova - the Russian Federation has temporarily bitten our territories. We have one thing in common - this is our European integration future, "said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine is convinced that the unique chance of European integration prospects of Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova became possible, in particular, due to the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people in this terrible war. He hoped that completing the questionnaire needed to become an EU candidate would be successful and that the countries would soon join the big European family.

Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the people, Parliament, and Government of Georgia for the hospitality and support of Ukrainian citizens seeking temporary refuge in Georgia.

"To win, we must all together break the economic backbone of the aggressor, thanks to which he feeds the murder machine in Ukraine," said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament asked the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament to consider imposing sanctions on Russia.

"This is very important, first of all, for Ukraine. We hope for a quick end to the war. Then the question of rebuilding Ukraine will arise, so I also want to invite our brotherly Georgia to join the process of restoring our wonderful country, "said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
