A document that would violate the territorial integrity or national interests of Ukraine will never leave the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, where the independence of the state was proclaimed. This was stated by Speaker of the Parliament Dmytro Razumkov during the speech at the Solemn sitting of the Verkhovna Rada on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine.
The Speaker of the Parliament stressed that Ukraine never recognizes the occupation of Crimea and pseudo-state formations in the East of the state and will always defend its territorial integrity.
Dmytro Razumkov stressed that territorial integrity, unitarity, and inviolability of borders are the foundations that were laid 30 years ago when independent Ukraine was created. At the same time, he added that independence for Ukrainians is democracy. "This means that the Ukrainian people will determine where and how the country should move. The Ukrainian people have repeatedly proved this," said the Speaker of the Parliament.
The Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada noted that the provisions of Article 5 of the Constitution of Ukraine, according to which the bearer of sovereignty and the only source of power in Ukraine is the people, must always be complied with.
As Dmytro Razumkov noted, for Ukrainians, independence is a freedom, and they value personal and economic freedom the most. "Social and political orders of tyranny, authoritarian or dictatorial type have never taken root and will not take root in Ukraine," said the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
