This plenary week is not easy, but it is important for the Parliament and the state. This was stated by Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during the Conciliation Council of Deputy Factions and Groups.
“This is the last week, I hope it will be consolidated and effective, and we will be able to consider those bills that are important today for both the state and the Verkhovna Rada,” said Dmytro Razumkov.
The Speaker of the Parliament noted that the position of the Venice Commission on many issues coincides with the position of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine - both on the independence of institutions and on the responsibility for illicit enrichment. He reminded that last plenary week the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft law No. 4460-d, which restores responsibility for false declarations. Dmytro Razumkov added that due to the timely adoption of the law it was possible to avoid the situation of non-submission of declarations next year due to the lack of such legislation.
Also, according to the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, on Tuesday it is planned to consider two legislative initiatives developed by the parliamentary working group, which are related to the activities of the NAPC. Dmitry Razumkov expressed hope that the Parliament will be able to effectively resolve this issue.
In order to regulate the work of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada called on the Committee on Legal Policy to quickly consider the developed initiatives. “International experts also support a number of positions that are reflected in the bills. Representatives of the working group are awaiting consideration in order to resolve the third issue related to the problems with the Constitutional Court,” - Dmytro Razumkov reported.
