A squiz on the today's briefing of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy

On next plenary week

The Chairman predicts viewing changes to the budget and tax codes next week exactly, which could make it possible to immediately switch over to the budget issue on the second reading in order to avoid putting it off for the last plenary days. This urgent strategy has been preagreed with the Cabinet.

On the 50th PABSEC session

The Fiftieth General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) will be held in Kyiv, on 28-30 November 2017, at the invitation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Kyiv Session will be attended by the parliamentary delegations of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine, and representatives from France, Slovakia, Belarus and some other. This international event is of utter importance to Ukraine as it lifts up the country’s parliamentary cooperation with the neighbouring states greatly, and allows it to amply discuss very topical world-outlook issues such as the Silk Road and cooperation within the Black Sea and Baltic regions.

The Plenary Session will discuss the “Development of Economic Cooperation in the Context of      Security Crisis in the Black Sea Region”, as the main topic of the General Debate, and will debate the Reports and Recommendations drafted by the PABSEC Committees during their autumn meetings: “Development of the National Innovation System in the BSEC Member States”, “The 25 Years of the PABSEC: Enhancement of the Inter-parliamentary Cooperation in the Region” and “Social Protection and Benefits for the Young Families in the BSEC Member States”. On November 29 and 30, there will be plenary meetings of the PABSEC GA at the Debating Chamber of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

On completion of a personnel affairs issue

The Chairman pointed out the personnel problem should be solved by the end of the year. It was also stressed the problem is among the most controversial and much discussed-of ones. However, it seems to be a must for the House that the issue be resolved by the end of the last plenary week -- and the Central Election Committee, the Office of the Ombudsman, the National Bank of Ukraine and other vital for country establishments be ‘manned’ properly after all.
