Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, has congratulated the delegation of the Ukrainian Parliament to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on its diplomatic victory in Strasbourg.
In particular, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said that the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada managed to fulfill a very complicated task: two leading factions condemned the return of the Russian Federation to the PACE as a result of which the position of pro-Russian politicians shook considerably.
The PACE Resolution has become a new step in the international acknowledgement of the Russia's aggression.
The Resolution lays all responsibility for the humanitarian situation in Crimea and Donbas on the Kremlin.
The document also states that the Russia's actions threaten existence of the Crimean Tatar community.
The PACE Resolution confirmed voidance of so-called self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) supported and controlled by Russia.
The Resolution takes in account conclusions of the Special Group for Criminal Investigation into the downing of the Malaysia Airlines' MH17 jetliner by the Russian Buk launcher system from the territory controlled by separatists.
The document demands that the Russian Federation withdraw its occupation troops from the territory of Ukraine.
It rules that no elections on the temporarily occupied territories could be possible within the aforementioned conditions. The PACE places in doubt the authorities of the whole State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (the Russian Parliament), following respective elections conducted in the territory of the Russia-annexed Crimea.
