The Committee on Industrial and Investment Policy recommends that the Parliament should adopt as a basis the bill on technical regulations and conformance evaluation

The bill (Reg. No. 4954) was elaborated in order to establish on the basis of the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, which is an integral part of the Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization, the only legal and organizational basis for the activity in the sphere of technical regulations by consolidating provisions of the laws “On Conformity Assessment” and “On Standards, Technical Regulations and Conformance Evaluation Procedures”, as well as the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of 10/05/1993 No. 46-93 “On Standardization and Certification” is a separate legislative act.

Having discussed the bill, Committee members stressed the necessity of its adoption.
