In wartime, agricultural exports are an important factor in maintaining economic stability and national resilience, as well as helping to avoid global food crises, according to the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.

According to data from the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club association, Ukraine exported 4.5 million tonnes of agricultural products in October 2025, which is 20.8% more than in the previous month.

The main reasons for the growth in export volumes in October 2025 were:

- acceleration of the harvest. Due to weather conditions this year, the harvest of soybeans, sunflowers and corn was spread out over time, and in October the volumes of harvested crops began to accumulate;

- the establishment of a procedure for the absence of a 10% export duty for soybean and rapeseed producers within the framework of the introduced ‘soybean amendments’;

- favourable conditions on the sunflower oil market combined with an increase in the supply of sunflower seeds.

It is noted that, taking into account the above factors, oilseeds and their processed products showed the largest increase in exports.

 The structure of agricultural exports in October 2025 was as follows:

cereals – 2.7 million tonnes (wheat – 56%, corn – 35% and barley – 8%), an increase of 9% compared to the previous month;

oilseeds – 447.1 thousand tonnes (soybeans – 53%, rapeseed – 45% and flax – 2%), an increase of 39%;

vegetable oils – 510.8 thousand tonnes (sunflower oil – 72%, rapeseed oil – 18% and soybean oil – 9%), an increase of 63%;

oilcake after extraction of vegetable oils – 467.2 thousand tonnes (sunflower – 73%, soybean – 27%), growth – 66%;

other types of agricultural products – 386.1 thousand tonnes, growth – 14%.

At the same time, according to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, in terms of corn exports in October, the largest buyers of Ukrainian corn were countries of the European Union, Asia and Africa.

As of the end of October, Ukraine had exported 1.9 million tonnes of corn since the beginning of the 2025/26 marketing year. More than half of all exports – 52.2% or 491.2 thousand tonnes – went to the European Union market. Another 31.9% (300.4 thousand tonnes) of Ukrainian corn was delivered to Asia and 15.9% (149.4 thousand tonnes) to African countries.

Italy was the largest buyer of Ukrainian corn in October, importing 263.1 thousand tonnes (28% of the total volume). The average export price was $205.6/tonne.

Turkey ranked second with 168.8 thousand tonnes (17.9%) and a price of $209.8/t. Korea ranked third, purchasing 102.6 thousand tonnes at a price of $206.6/t.
