The meeting on this matter, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, was also attended by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources for European Integration Olha Yukhymchuk, Director General of the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Oleksandr Ilkov, and other officials.
During the meeting, various aspects of Ukrainian legislation raised during the screening—a pivotal stage in the EU accession negotiation process—were discussed, including the list of draft laws currently under consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as well as those planned for development and submission to Parliament.
The high level of preparedness demonstrated by the Ukrainian delegation for bilateral meetings was acknowledged, particularly specialists from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources and other central executive authorities, alongside the significant contributions of civil society representatives involved in the negotiation preparation.
The next phase involves diligent work by the Committee in close cooperation with the executive branch to adapt and implement EU acts into the national legislative framework.
Participants coordinated the necessary steps for advocacy with international partners to facilitate Ukraine’s opening of Cluster 4 under Denmark’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, which commenced on July 1, 2025.
