The selection for the Invictus Games 2025 has started in Ukraine. All servicemen, veterans and volunteers who were injured or traumatised while performing their duties can take part in them. The selected candidates will represent our country at the competition in Canada.

Iryna Borzova, the MP and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sports, said this.

“Registration is still ongoing, and everyone who wants to take part in the competition has until 21 April to register on the eVeteran web portal and confirm their status. Each candidate must have experience in adaptive sports. In early May, an adaptive sports camp will be held in Kyiv for registered veterans, where registered candidates will be able to try their hand at certain disciplines and make a decision on whether to participate in the national competition,” the MP said.

She added that the assessment will take into account not only sports results, but also team spirit and motivational path to development. Based on the results of the all-Ukrainian competitions, 35 people will be selected to represent our country at the Invictus Games 2025 in Canada.

The MP also stressed that sport is an important component in the rehabilitation of veterans and their adaptation to life in communities.

“Veterans’ sport is a continuation of rehabilitation, their social and psychological adaptation. Therefore, it is necessary to develop sports infrastructure in the regions. We have communities that implement special programmes, are interested and understand the importance of this area, and there are communities that are still standing still. At the same time, all programmes and the law on veteran sports have been adopted at the state level in Ukraine,” Iryna Borzova emphasised.
