The Committee on Digital Transformation held hearings on the topic: "On the implementation of the Roadmap for Ukraine's integration into the EU Digital Single Market".
Opening the hearing, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Digital Transformation Yegor Chernev noted that the strategy of the digital single market is based on three areas:
better access of consumers and businesses to goods and services, creating appropriate conditions for the promotion of information and communication technologies and services, maximizing the growth of the potential of the digital economy.

"In six years, we have come a long way in implementing the standards and regulations of the European Union. But issues related to the digital economy are fragmented. The legislative level remains outdated. We aim to transform the resource economy into a digital one, which requires a unified vision and strategy," Yegor Chernev noted.

According to him, the Committee is working to update the legislation, including bills on virtual assets, personal data.
But this requires a comprehensive single state strategy for the development of the digital economy, which would be implemented by all authorities.
Oleksandr Fedienko, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, noted that it is important to bring the current Ukrainian legislation as close as possible to the European legislative field.

Oleksandr Fedienko reminded that the Law on Electronic Communications No.3014 was adopted on December 16. It is included in the roadmap of the Association Agreement with the EU. The next step is the Law on Independent Regulator. "We have drafted the bill on the National Commission of state regulation in the fields of electronic communications, radio frequency spectrum and provision of postal sservices in Ukraine, which I hope will be introduced at the next session. These are fundamental laws, without which European integration is impossible," he said.

Oksana Prykhodko, director of the International NGO European Media Platform, stressed the need to develop a glossary on the digital economy to avoid ambiguity.

"Creating a Roadmap is a multi-phase and multilateral process, so only with the joint efforts of all stakeholders, including our European partners, it became possible," Gulsanna Mamediieva, Director-General of the Directorate for Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, noted.

The participants of the hearings noted the importance of the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Communications", which will allow to implement reforms simultaneously with the EU countries.

Relevant recommendations will be developed based on the results of the committee hearings.
