There will be held the Second Inter-Parliamentary Conference on the theme “Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Strengthening the Inter-Parliamentary Component of Regional and Security Cooperation, While Developing Interaction with the EU and NATO” (Kyiv, Ukraine)


The event shall take place from June 8 till June 10, 2018.

Once triggered by the Parliament’s Speaker A.Parubiy, on June 8-9 there shall take place the Second Inter-Parliamentary Conference on the theme “Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: Strengthening the Inter-Parliamentary Component of Regional and Security Cooperation, While Developing Interaction with the EU and NATO”, which is a follow-up of the trilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue unfolded during the speaker’s official visit to Moldova in March.

The strategic goal of the conference is to promote democratic values, create and secure a common security system, build economically stable public administration and reform the countries in accordance with European legal norms.

Parliamentarians from Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and the European Parliament, representatives of diplomatic institutions of foreign countries in Ukraine, NGOs, and the press have been invited to participate in the conference.

The conference shall embrace the following events:

A specialized panel discussion on counteraction of misinformation and cyber threats:

Laura Jewett, Regional director for Eurasia, the National Democratic Institute,

Samantha Bradshaw, a Researcher, Computational Propaganda Project at Oxford University and a Senior Fellow at the Canadian International Council,

Margo Gontar, co-founder of StopFake.org,

Koryna Serpo, project manager, Moldova Internews,

Yevhen Mahda, executive director, the Institute of World Politics,

Moderator: Rebecca Harms, a German politician, member of the European Parliament, co-chair of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly.

A ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the victims of the Holodomor.

An opening ceremony of the International Conference, addresses of the Moldovan, Georgian and Ukrainian parliamentary speakers.

A ceremony of signing the launch declaration of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly “Ukraine-Moldova-Georgia”. The paper is to be signed by:

Andriy Parubiy, the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Ukrainian Parliament),

Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia,

Andrian Candu, the Chairman of the Moldovan Parliament.

Based on the results of the conference, a joint three-speaker briefing shall be held, alongside with the conferees’ interviews.

“Security Challenges Counterstrategy”, with the three parliamentary speakers to partake:

“Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova – From EU Association Agreement to Full European Integration”, with the parliamentarians of the three countries to partake:
