The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues as to further cooperation between Ukraine and Israel, in particular, in the sectors of science, medicine, education and business, as well as at the level of parliaments of the two countries.
Oksana Syroyid thanked the guests for their participation in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, congratulated them on the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed condolences on death of Former President of Israel Shimon Peres.
Oksana Syroyid noted that the experience of Israel is "unique for Ukraine as experience of the state succeeding despite constant threat."
According to Syroyid, the most important for a state is to understand the reality and find the most important.
She said that another thing Ukraine could learn from Israel is to protect own national interests.
Oksana Syroyid considers that the Ukrainians do not have to explain anyone "why they live here." Her colleague from the Israeli Parliament noted that neighbors really willing to live shoulder to shoulder should try to create conditions for peace.
At the same time, Mr. Yehiel Barley noted that Ukraine is the matter that unites the Israeli Knesset.
