Participating in the signing ceremony were Volodymyr Slyshynskyi, acting head of the Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Taras Prytula, the president of the League of Interns NGO, Kyrylo Tretiak, head of the department for provision of inter-parliamentary ties of the Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Christian Doering, the director of the GIZ [Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)] project "Support to Public Finance Management Reform", George Kunnath, Regional Director for ECA and Africa at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), members of the League of Interns NGO.
Christian Doering said GIZ had been cooperating with the Ukrainian parliament since 2012. At the same time, today's signing opens a new page in the relations because of the creation of the office for economic and financial analyses. "Together we can do good things for the Ukrainian parliament. We are not just launching the office. Its functioning is supported by the governments of Germany and Britain through respective ministries," he said. Christian Doering voiced confidence that the next three years will consolidate the partner relations in this business.
George Kunnath said the new office would be built on new practices that were applied in Britain and the office would have a privilege to use the best experience of the economic and financial analysis. He stated that the cooperation with the League of Interns NGO sets an example of investment in the new generations of Ukraine.
Taras Prytula noted that the opening of the office proves that the Ukrainian parliament comes to a new level of the inter-parliamentary ties. "Our interns will work together with people's deputies and will provide respective informational products," he said. The speaker voiced confidence that the office will become a key center of high quality for providing necessary information.
Volodymyr Slyshynskyi said he had no doubts about success of the joint work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with consultants and interns.
