"For over 20 years, the PABSEC General Assembly has made considerable contribution to enhancement of multilateral economic, social, cultural and political cooperation in the Black Sea region. However, Ukraine insists on enhancement of political element in the work of the Assembly in view of unsettled conflicts and acts of armed aggression within the BSEC," Head of Verkhovna Rada permanent delegation to PABSEC Liudmyla Denisova said this at the press conference after the meeting of the 45th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Chisinau (Moldova).
Denisova drew attention to the fact that the BSEC and its parliamentary dimension have faced the most serious challenge in its history.
"The situation Ukraine is finding itself in as a result of the aggressive actions of Russia, undermines security not only in the Black Sea region, but also in Europe and all over the world," said Denisova.
She also noted that over 400 kilometers of Ukrainian border with Russia is not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, instead it is controlled by so-called "people's republics," which in essence are terror organizations.
She also noted that Ukraine had denounced agreements with Russia as to military interstate movement and transit of Russian troops through the territory of Ukraine to Moldova: "Russia could use those agreements to violate territorial integrity of Ukraine in Odesa region."
