The Chairman of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU took part in an online meeting with his Canadian collegue, Randy Hoback, a member of the Conservative Party.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze thanked Canada for its military and humanitarian support to Ukraine but noted that the scale of russia's crimes in Ukraine was unprecedented, so the world's response should be much more significant: "The number of victims and the brutality with which the occupiers are attacking Ukraine shows that russia aims to wipe our people off the world map. We have experienced this in the past, during the Holodomor genocide, during the Second World War, and now we are experiencing it again. russia is cynically destroying homes, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and maternity hospitals. Violates all possible laws of war - treacherously shoots humanitarian corridors". According to the chairman of the Committee, the assistance that the world is currently providing to Ukraine is already a tectonic shift. However, the free world is still a few steps behind putin's crimes against the Ukrainian people. "I think the world was stunned by the way Ukrainians are fighting. Both the Kremlin and the West were convinced that Ukraine would fall in a few days, but putin's planned blitzkrieg turned into his blitz failure. And that's because people are really united around defending their country. Many of our men are returning from abroad. More than 140,000 returned home and defended Ukraine. But we cannot fight with our bare hands. That's why we call on our friends who share our values ??- we need support. "
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze is convinced that Canada can unite other nations to help Ukraine: “We call for even tougher sanctions. putin does not need reasons for escalation. He invents these reasons every day. And if Ukraine falls, other countries will be threatened. It is in your power now to unite and prevent this. Give us weapons, protection in the air, protection for our soldiers, and territorial defense because there are queues of people who want to defend their country. And we have to dress and arm them. "
The Chairman of the Committee also warned about another danger from the russian federation: “russia is now spreading regular fakes about foreign laboratories of biological and chemical weapons on the territory of Ukraine. This is, of course, a complete delusion, but it shows a very dangerous thing - russia is preparing such an attack. russia has already done this in Syria and can do so in Ukraine to intimidate the Ukrainian people, to break down strong resistance. "According to Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, the occupiers are already using bombs banned by the Geneva Convention. And now there are two nuclear power plants under their control. They are selected for three more: “They are already creating a situation that threatens nuclear war even without the direct use of nuclear weapons. They can do this by attacking our nuclear power plants. This danger is real. The world needs to understand that human life has no value for russia. Not only the lives of Ukrainians but also the lives of their soldiers. They do not even want to take the bodies of the dead from Ukraine. They use people as meat. All this is happening in the immediate vicinity of the border with the EU. And this means that all of the threat is now very close to those countries that are arguing about Ukraine. "putin has already started World War III, the chairman of the Committee is convinced. Just now, this war is taking place on the territory of Ukraine.
[13:30, 15.03.2022] Олена Костинюк: Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze called on Canada to help internally displaced persons in Ukraine and work with international humanitarian organizations that have not yet come directly to Ukraine to help people. "The Red Cross, for example. They work from Poland. It is good, of course, to work with Poland, but they should be here to help Ukrainians here. Millions of people worldwide donate enough money to these organizations to provide real help. And this is another area where Canada can join and help," the Committee Chair concluded.
