Oleksandr Korniienko, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, paid a working visit to the Khmelnytskyi region.
He held a meeting with the Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration and the Mayor of Starokostiantyniv. The First Deputy Speaker highlighted the importance of the region's resilience in the face of continuous massive attacks by the aggressor state. The parties discussed the security situation and identified areas where communities require state support. In particular, the discussions focused on developing the capacities of the Khmelnytskyi region and preparing for the upcoming heating season.
Furthermore, Oleksandr Korniienko met with entrepreneurs of the Khmelnytskyi region.
According to him, these individuals are currently sustaining the economy and creating jobs. Therefore, one of the key focus areas of the discussion was the development of potential legislative solutions aimed at addressing the challenges faced by businesses operating amid ongoing air raid alerts and strikes.
Together with the Minister of Health of Ukraine, People's Deputies, and the Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council, they held a joint meeting on the operation of healthcare facilities and the implementation of veteran policy in the region.
“It is precisely during such meetings that an understanding of the real needs of communities is shaped: legislative amendments are drafted, budgetary decisions are adjusted, and state policy priorities are defined,” emphasized Oleksandr Korniienko.
According to him, the meeting addressed the issues of healthcare reform, the impact of martial law on the healthcare system, cooperation with the National Health Service of Ukraine, and the development of veteran policy. A separate focus of the discussion was the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to European medical standards as part of Euro-integration.
“For us, it is crucial not only to listen to the concerns of people who work in the medical sector and assist veterans every day, but also to find effective mechanisms to resolve them. It is the interaction between the central government, local self-government, the medical community, and business that enables us to respond effectively to today's challenges. After all, healthcare, veteran policy, and social support for our people are our shared responsibility,” Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized.
People's Deputies Mykhailo Radutskyi, Vitalii Bezghin, Serhiy Mandziy, and government representatives also took part in the working visit to the Khmelnytskyi region.
Furthermore, during the visit, members of the delegation honored the memory of the Holodomor victims, the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, and the fallen Defenders of Ukraine. Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized that the memory of all victims of the totalitarian regime and russian aggression must remain unalterable.
