The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, held a meeting with Germany's Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, Stefanie Hubig.

During the meeting, Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Federal Government, the Bundestag, the Bundesrat, the Federal President, and the German people for their consistent support of Ukraine.

"Germany remains one of the leaders in providing assistance to our state — encompassing political, financial, military, and energy support. We particularly value its contribution to strengthening Ukrainian air defence and its support for our European course," emphasised the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Additionally, the parties discussed the issue of rule of law and further support for Ukraine in the legal field. Stefanie Hubig noted that Germany is impressed by the strength of the Ukrainian people and the resilience of its state institutions, and remains fully ready to continue its support for Ukraine.

During the meeting, particular attention was paid to Ukraine's European integration. Ruslan Stefanchuk welcomed the opening of the first negotiation cluster on Ukraine's path to the EU and emphasised that the Verkhovna Rada is ready to work systematically toward opening all negotiation clusters and aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU standards.

The parties also discussed the situation on the frontline and the need to continue comprehensive support for Ukraine. According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, russia continues its daily attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities, making it crucial to increase sanctions pressure, cut off the sources of war financing, and advance decisions on the confiscation of russian assets.

Furthermore, the parties discussed the cooperation format initiated by the Verkhovna Rada for the parliaments of EU candidate countries. According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, such a platform will help strengthen coordination, facilitate the exchange of experience, and foster joint progress toward EU membership.
