On the sidelines of the Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of the European Union Member States in Copenhagen, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil.

During the meeting, the parties discussed еру current situation in Ukraine, developments on the battlefield, further support from partners, and integration into the EU.

According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Czech Republic plays a crucial role in strengthening Ukraine's defence capability, political resilience, and international support.

“We value this honest, principled, and friendly stance of the Czech Republic. Ukraine is defending not only itself, but also the security of the entire Europe. russia must face real consequences for its aggression. Any ceasefire must be lasting and lead to a just peace, not give putin a pause merely to hold a parade in moscow,” emphasised Ruslan Stefanchuk.

President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil stressed that it is the European partners who should be thanking Ukraine today for its struggle, although, unfortunately, not everyone fully recognises this.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked for the support and invited the President of the Senate to visit Kyiv.
