On the sidelines of the EU Conference of Speakers in Copenhagen, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with the President of German Bundesrat Andreas Bovenschulte.
Strong European security is impossible without a strong Ukraine - this was a key topic of the discussion.
The parties discussed the current security situation and key areas for further cooperation. Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to Germany for its leadership in supporting Ukraine and for comprehensive assistance - political, financial, humanitarian, and defence.
Particular attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the defence industry, the establishment of the European defence shield, and strengthening of interparliamentary cooperation.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also invited the President of the German Bundesrat to visit Kyiv.
In turn, Andreas Bovenschulte confirmed that Germany will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it is needed.
