On March 24, a meeting took place at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine between the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniienko, and Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood at the European Commission. The meeting was also attended by the chairs of parliamentary committees.

Oleksandr Korniienko thanked the European Union and its member states for financial, economic, military and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine since russia's full-scale invasion of our country, emphasising that Ukraine's membership into the EU is a key guarantee of long-term security for all of Europe. 

The parties discussed in detail the progress of the Ukraine Facility plan, including the legislative work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in this area. The committee chairs provided information on the relevant draft laws and stages of work on their adoption.

"Ukraine’s membership in the EU is a clear goal that we aim to achieve in the near future. We are working on all levels to this end. We have demonstrated our commitment to the chosen path and remain steadfast in our European integration course," said the First Deputy Speaker, Oleksandr Korniienko.

Prior to the meeting with the Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighborhood (DG ENEST), were joined by Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union; Anastasia Radina, Chair of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy; Denys Maslov, Chair of the Committee on Legal Policy; and Danylo Getmantsev, Chair of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Getmantsev, Chair of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities Andriy Gerus, Deputy Chair of the Committee and Chair of the Subcommittee on Public Procurement Regulation and Effective Management of State and Municipal Property of the Committee on Economic Development Oleksiy Movchan, and Secretary of the Committee on Budget Volodymyr Tsabal.
