Ruslan Stefanchuk, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met with a delegation from the International Paneuropean Union, led by Karl von Habsburg, at the Parliament.
Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised that the Ukrainian people are defending not only their freedom and independence, but also the fundamental values upon which the modern European order is built.
During the meeting, they discussed Ukraine’s European integration, the further strengthening of defence capabilities and the importance of preserving the unity of the democratic world.
Karl von Habsburg stressed that it is in Ukraine today that the future of Europe is being defended. He also noted Ukraine’s important role as a future member of the European Union, particularly in the field of security, as well as our country’s strong starting position for accession — thanks in particular to the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude for the support of Ukraine and emphasised the need for joint efforts towards a strong, secure and united Europe.
