The leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, together with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, congratulated Ukrainian diplomats on their professional holiday and thanked them for their daily work to protect Ukraine's national interests around the world.
«Ukrainian diplomacy today is a joint effort of the President, Parliament and Government. In 2025, it became one of the elements of state stability. Thanks to the systematic and professional work of the diplomatic service, Ukraine not only maintains but also strengthens international support — defence, financial and humanitarian — and shapes international conditions for achieving a just and lasting peace,» said Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to him, constant coordination between the diplomatic service and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is particularly important: joint efforts have succeeded in consolidating the international parliamentary environment in support of Ukraine — from the G7 countries and the US Congress to the European Parliament, the parliamentary assemblies of the Council of Europe, the OSCE and NATO.
«An important area of joint work remains the international recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people. In recent years, the number of countries that have adopted relevant decisions has doubled. The next important step is to bring this issue to the attention of the UN General Assembly,» said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, Ukrainian diplomacy faces complex and challenging tasks ahead: further strengthening sanctions pressure on the aggressor, practical use of frozen russian assets, promoting Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO, launching mechanisms of international accountability, and returning illegally deported Ukrainian children. «Our task for the coming year is to maintain momentum and not stop,» he concluded, thanking all diplomatic service employees for their professionalism, endurance, and dedication to the state.
«The country appreciates the work of diplomatic service employees, and we are confident that next year you will also achieve many significant accomplishments! You are Ukraine's voice, which sounds confident and decisive throughout the world,» said First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko. He stressed that despite russia's attempts to impose its own narratives on the world and justify its criminal actions, Ukrainian diplomacy does not allow this to become a reality. The world, he said, remains with Ukraine — on the side of light, not darkness.
«At a time of the greatest challenges to statehood, in the fourth year of full-scale war, Ukrainian diplomats are doing everything possible to ensure that Ukraine is heard in the world and that russian crimes do not go unpunished and forgotten,» emphasised Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk, thanking all Ukrainian diplomats for their dedicated service to the Ukrainian people and for strengthening Ukraine's position in the world.
