On 7 October, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, addressed the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and all Ukrainians from the rostrum.

"I highly appreciate his clear position: 'Crimea is Ukraine'. This is a strong signal of support and confirmation of the unity of the democratic world in the fight against russian aggression," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk.

He thanked Mr Sampietro for his attention to the release of illegally detained Ukrainian citizens, for his support of Ukrainian refugees and for his willingness to seek the release of Ukrainian OSCE staff members held by russia.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also thanked for honouring the memory of Andriy Parubiy, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII convocation.

Ruslan Stefanchuk also reported on the results of the plenary session. The Parliament adopted as a basis:

No. 14030 - Draft Law on the Basic Principles of State Supervision (Control);

No. 14013 - Draft Law on Credit History.
