A farewell ceremony for Andriy Parubiy, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII convocation, took place in Lviv. Together with his family, loved ones and the public, his memory was honoured by the leadership of the Parliament and the people's deputies of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, noted that Andriy Parubiy was a true Ukrainian who devoted his entire life to the struggle for Ukraine's existence.

"He was one of those who not only witnessed Ukrainian history, but also created it: on the Maidan, in the territorial defence, in the session hall. He always had a clear position and was ready to take responsibility for it. Andriy Parubiy lived for politics in the best sense of the word: fighting for freedom and working for Ukraine," Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised.

May his memory live on.
