Within the official visit to France, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with the President of the French National Assembly Yael Braun-Pivet. «We had a frank and constructive conversation about the war, joint responsibility and the future,» said Ruslan Stefanchuk according to the results of the meeting.
The parties discussed strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, increasing sanctions pressure on russia and return of illegally deported Ukrainian children and further participation of France in reconstruction, both of infrastructural and humanitarian. A particular attention was paid to interparliamentary cooperation as an important factor of bilateral relations.
«France's support is not just about weapons or sanctions, but about a shared vision of the future. The French voice is heard in Europe: the aggressor must be stopped,» emphasised the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
