At the joint hearings of the Committees of the National Assembly of the French Republic on Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Defence and the Armed Forces, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of further strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities.

The meeting also discussed the development of joint defence and industrial projects, the introduction of tougher sanctions against russia, and the confiscation of frozen russian assets to help rebuild Ukraine.

A particular attention was paid to the creation of an international tribunal for russian crimes of aggression against Ukraine, Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and engagement of French regions and businesses into the reconstruction of strong, sustainable Ukraine.

«Ukraine is a country at war. But, at the same time, this is the country which is reforming, working, studying, caring about the future. And even in the darkest times we remain part of European family,» emphasised Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked French colleagues for  strong support and urged not to slow down the pace of assistance, as delay costs lives, destroyed cities and lost generations.
