Ruslan Stefanchuk congratulated his colleague on his election to the high office and thanked him for his continued support of Ukraine. He stressed that Canada is one of Ukraine's most loyal allies, and its solidarity and assistance is an important contribution to the common struggle for freedom and justice.

The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament informed about the consequences of yet another large-scale russian attack on Ukrainian cities, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians. He emphasized that russian terror constitutes a cynical response to any attempts at peaceful resolution and requires a resolute reaction from the international community.

Particular attention during the conversation was devoted to the issue of forcibly deported Ukrainian children. «Their return is a moral imperative for the entire civilized world. In this context, Canada, which consistently upholds human rights, plays a special role,» emphasized Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The parties discussed enhancing military assistance to Ukraine, including within Canada’s 2025–2026 budget framework, as well as continued political and financial support. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada recalled that Canada has already provided over 4.5 billion Canadian dollars in aid and expressed confidence in the further development of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both nations and in the name of shared democratic values.
