Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held a meeting with Bridget Brink, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Ukraine, as she finishes her diplomatic mission.
He thanked the U.S. Ambassador for her active work to strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, as well as for her personal commitment to supporting Ukraine in the most difficult period of its recent history. ‘The Ambassador worked in Ukraine during one of the most difficult periods - and always stood by our people,’ the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada said.
Ruslan Stefanchuk praised the political, defence, financial and humanitarian assistance of the United States, emphasising: «Ukraine feels its ally's side, which stands for freedom, justice and international law».
The parties also touched upon matters of inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Chairman of the Parliament expressed confidence that the bicameral and bipartisan support of the Ukrainian people in the U.S. Congress will continue to be maintained.
