The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held the first meeting of the Youth Council under the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This body was established as an effective platform for interaction between the younger generation and the Ukrainian Parliament.
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Youth Council was formed on a competitive basis - each of its members had the opportunity to join the legislative work thanks to their own ideas, motivation and desire to change the country.
«This is not only a consultative platform, but also a space for developing legislative initiatives that reflect the needs and ambitions of young people,» Ruslan Stefanchuk said in his address to the youth.
The meeting covered areas of cooperation and draft laws related to youth policy and students. In particular, the draft Law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education» to expand student self-government entities (Reg. No. 10279), as well as the draft Law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine «On the Basic Principles of Youth Policy» and other laws to promote its development (Reg. No. 12298).
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine encouraged youth to actively engage in discussing initiatives that determine the future of the country - and to shape it together today.
