Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with a delegation of MEPs, members of the Committee on Public Health. The parties discussed political, humanitarian and defence support for Ukraine, the current situation in the healthcare sector, as well as the European integration path of Ukraine.

«I appreciate your presence in Ukraine right now - at a time when Russian missiles are striking Ukrainian cities every day, while doctors are rescuing victims in the most difficult conditions,» Ruslan Stefanchuk said, thanking for the solidarity with Ukraine.

The sides raised the issue of terrorist attacks by russia, in particular the recent attacks on Sumy and Kryvyi Rih, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties. A special attention was paid to the needs in the field of medical care, both inside and outside the country, in particular, the treatment and rehabilitation of the victims of the war in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the issues of increasing sanctions pressure on russia, ensuring accountability of the aggressor for its crimes, returning deported children, and confiscation of russia's assets were raised. Reforms, adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to European standards and inter-parliamentary cooperation as a key element of the European integration process were discussed in a separate block.

«Together we are protecting the lives, values and future of Europe,» the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.
