Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Parliament, held the second joint meeting of the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament.
This inter-parliamentary format has become a unique platform for conversation between Ukraine and the EU, which is especially important in the context of full-scale war and global transformations. The format was launched two years ago and, as a Chairman of the Parliament emphasized, today's meeting has once again confirmed its effectiveness and relevance.
«Ukraine is confidently moving toward European integration. Following that we feel a reliable support of the European Parliament - in decisions, in statements and specific actions» - said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
During the meeting the parliamentarians discussed key issues of cooperation, including strengthening security, economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU law, and also the role of parliaments in the process of Ukraine's approximation to full membership in EU.
«Today's meeting - is not only about coordination, but also about a deep interaction based on trust, common values and European unity,» - the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.
