Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine hosted a ceremony of awarding certificates to the participants of the 27th intake of the Internship Programme. They started their journey in January 2022, a month before russia's full-scale invasion. Today, three years later, the interns have officially completed their programme, gaining priceless experience and opportunities for professional growth.

«You started your internship in a peaceful country and ended it in the midst of a full-scale war. But all of you have completed this journey and proved that young people in Ukraine are strong, responsible and ready to serve the state,» said Secretary General of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vyacheslav Shtuchnyi.

He thanked the interns for their endurance, dedication and hard work and underscored that the Programme's graduates include Members of Parliament of Ukraine, civil servants, diplomats, public figures and representatives of international organisations.

«When people ask me to define war, I will answer without hesitation: names. We remember everyone who went to defend the country and did not return,» Executive Director of the NGO «Interns’ League» Mariia Savina said.

In conclusion, the Secretary General of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine addressed the interns and noted that the path to adulthood lies open to them. He emphasised that the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is always happy to welcome talented young people who want to develop and work for the benefit of the state. «So, continue to cooperate with the Interns’ League and internship supervisors, and perhaps very soon we will meet you at the final interview to join the Secretariat family,» said Viacheslav Shtuchnyi.

This year, the Internship Programme in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine celebrates its 30th anniversary. Over this time, more than 2,000 young people have completed the programme, many of whom have become part of the Ukrainian statehood.
